Organizations moving towards scalable IoT deployments

Initial results from the International Data Corporation (IDC) 2016 Global IoT Decision Maker Survey show that the organisations are pivoting away from proof of concept projects to scalable Internet of Things (IoT) deployments that are incorporating cloud, analytics, and security capabilities. 31.4 per cent of organizations surveyed have launched IoT solutions, with an additional 43 per cent looking to deploy in the next 12 months. 55 per cent of respondents see IoT as strategic to their business as a means to compete more effectiv.. The Wi-Fi networks onboard the trains are connected to the radio access networks of all three of Germany’s mobile network operators thereby ensuring excellent connectivity. Since July 2016, Icomera and Ericsson have been implementing and supporting a mobile Internet connectivity solution onboard 386 of Deutsche Bahn’s high-speed ICE trains in Germany.

Now Virtual Network Operators License In 60 Days

Around 70 companies have applied for  Virtual Network Operators license  to  Department of Telecommunications (DoT) , government of India. According to industry insiders, the list of 70 companies does not include any large corporates but majority of VNO applicants are interested in starting ISP services. On the operator front, BSNL has shown active interest in joining hands with VNOs as it will help in extending its network to new customers and also help in increased capacity utilization of its mobile network. Initially Datawind and Oxigen had shown interest for virtual network operators license but  VARINDIA  could not confirm whether they applied for VNO license. In June, the  DoT  had issued guidelines for grant of Virtual Network Operators license to be finalized in 60 days.
